Solution Design Lead

The Solution Delivery department is responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining state of the art AI solutions to our partners and B2B clients.

A solution is built up by the following building blocks:

• Robovision (SaaS) platform applications

• (re)trainable AI modules that perform analysis and provide feedback on ongoing basis

• Software customization and integration

• Optical (cameras, lighting) and computational (edge devices, servers, cloud) IT infrastructure.

Reasons for the role

We are looking for an experienced solution design lead for our solution teams, to collect and manage solution requirements and coordinate the conversion of requirements in solution specifications and vision system design throughout the initial development path and further lifecycle management of our solution.

From idea to roll out, and across the lifecycle, the solution design lead will ensure that the needs of the customers and users are well-translated into the solution capabilities and characteristics.

What will you do? 

• Gather and document business and system requirements from stakeholders. Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand and validate needs, create requirement specifications and use cases, and continuously interact as a liaison with the business stakeholders to identify new and changed information as the solution development track progresses.

• Specify and design system and system integration functionalities based on requirements. Create functional design and system integration documentation, process and system models, and user interface designs, taking into account Robovision product best practices and constraints. .

• Provide functional and non functional requirements for potential product generic development to the product management team. Work closely with the product managers to clarify requirements, address questions, and define the resulting product changes and persistent product constraints to take into account for solution design.

• Provide functional and non functional specifications for solution specific development to the involved developers in the solution teams. Work closely with developers to clarify requirements, address questions, and verify implementation.

• Assist Solution project managers in planning and coordinating projects.

• Ensure the software meets business requirements and quality standards. Contribute to the writing and review of test plans and test cases, interpret test results, and interact with the stakeholders to identify and validate change needs.

• Take the lead in providing an optimal learning experience for external customers and users. Create or review user and administrator level documentation and training materials, conduct user experience type test activities, and support prototype and solution demonstrations towards stakeholders.

• Gather and analyse customer feedback to continuously identify opportunities to further innovate or improve the product. Contribute to the development of solution lifecycle strategy and roadmap.

• Master in Business Engineering, Information Management, Computer Science, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Applied Informatics or similar based upon experience.

• Previous applied experience as functional analyst, product owner, or equivalent roles.

• Experience with image based computer vision and data science use cases and challenges is a strong plus.

• A holistic understanding about computer vision and image based AI technology and modern machine and/or IT system architecture principles and practices is a strong plus.

• Strong analytical skills. You have the ability to identify and explain key questions, problems and decision points to non technical stakeholders to acquire answers and decisions.

• You are able to translate business expectations and requirements into process level and functional designs.

• Strong documentation skills. You are able to facilitate information gathering activities using the appropriate tools and facilitation structures, and know how to capture the collected information in clear and complete documentation using functional modelling and diagramming practices.

• You are pragmatic and have a strong affinity with agile principles and practices. You are accustomed to working in a cross-functional team setting.

• You’ve got ownership; you see tasks through to the end and you want to dig in on issues.

• Fluent knowledge of English. Proficiency in French and/or Dutch is a plus.

• Organised and eye for detail.

• You are a real team player, and like to collaborate in and across teams.

• You do not mind taking short trips to partners, customers or test facilities abroad to conduct analysis or test activities or participate in a co-creation effort to identify or validate new state of the art techniques to implement.
