Our Design Lab plays a key role in crafting the hardware components for the Vision AI solutions tailored to our customers. Acting as a crucial link with our software team, you'll provide support to our solution delivery teams in implementing comprehensive solutions. Additionally, your expertise will be instrumental in aiding our sales department.

What will you do?

  • Translate customer requirements into a vision based hardware setup

  • Propose potential hardware concepts & designs during prototyping phase.

  • Work with technical presales engineers and project delivery engineers to integrate them in the end-to-end customer solution design

  • Support for hardware estimations in (pre)sales tracks

  • Build and test hardware setups in our in-house design lab and document them

  • Install the hardware setup on-site at the customer location or provide support and advice to our delivery teams, to implementation partners or to the end customer

  • Follow up on Vision HW technologies and innovations, and interact with potential suppliers or partners

  • Actively share your knowledge with colleagues in the Robovision hardware community

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • Showcase a hands-on mentality by iteratively designing vision setups from early prototypes to finished products

  • Demonstrate curiosity by asking insightful questions, avoiding assumptions, and ensuring robust problem-solving

  • Exhibit strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to following a clear product design methodology.

  • Show a sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial mindset, actively seeking ways to enhance the design lab's operations.

  • Persistent in achieving your objectives and finding solutions.

  • Capable of taking the lead in customer communication and interactions related to vision HW design.

  • Hold a Master in Engineering/Electronics/Product Design or similar based upon experience

  • 3y+ Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python, C/C++, ...

  • Basic knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols (TCP/IP, SSH, UDP, …)

  • Basic knowledge of industrial integrations (PLC, sensors, protocols, …)

  • Basic vision knowledge: vision hardware and image processing techniques to fine tune your hardware setups

  • Basic machine learning experience is a plus (Tensorflow, Pytorch...)

  • Curious and highly interested in the latest advances in sensor technology (2D, 3D, smart cameras…), optics, IT, embedded hardware, compute hardware and SoC. You create an up to date knowledge base on these topics through conferences, self study and supplier contact

  • Be open to occasional travel for the role.
